DMP files 1,831 cases for traffic rule violations

DHAKA, June 14, 2026 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed a total of 1,831 cases across the capital for violating traffic rules.

The DMP Traffic Division filed the cases on June 13 during a regular drive against traffic rule violators, according to a press release issued today.

The release said DMP traffic police dumped 301 motor vehicles and towed 215 vehicles during the campaign.

It further said the drives against traffic rule violators will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka's streets.

During the drive, Ramna division filed 65 cases, Lalbagh division registered 155 cases, Motijheel traffic division filed 375 cases, Wari division registered 256 cases, Tejgaon division filed 132 cases, Mirpur division filed 305 cases, Uttara division registered 346 cases and Gulshan division filed 197 cases against motor vehicles, three-wheelers and motorcycles.
