RANGPUR, June 13, 2026 (BSS) – Anti-corruption officials and activists have emphasized on creating social awareness and instilling habits of honesty and truthfulness among students to prevent corruption from society for a better future for the next generation.
They viewed this at a training workshop on anti-corruption issues organized by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) with the participation of members of the Corruption Prevention Committees (CPC) of Rangpur and Nilphamari districts on Saturday.
Ninety-four members, including Presidents, Vice-presidents and General Secretaries of the district and upazila level CPCs from Rangpur and Nilphamari participated in the programme.
The event was organized to raise awareness among participants about anti-corruption activities, ethics, transparency, accountability, and integrity in professional and social activities.
The Rangpur District Integrated Office of ACC organised the event at Grand Castle Hotel in the city with its Deputy Director Md Shaon Mia in the chair.
Director General (Enquiry & Investigation-2) of ACC from its Dhaka Head Office Md Motaher Hossain attended the workshop as chief guest.
Rangpur Divisional Director of ACC Mohd Nurul Huda addressed the event as special guest.
Rangpur Divisional Director of ACC Mohd Nurul Huda, Deputy Director of the Rangpur District Integrated Office Md Shaon Mia and its Assistant Director Md Nur Alam delivered separate presentations in the workshop.
They discussed the goals and objectives of formation of CPCs, responsibilities of the CPC members and relevant laws, rules, regulations and policies for conducting their activities, and importance of Integrity Unit and Satota Store in educational institutions.
The speakers stressed the need for strengthening integrity units and 'Satota Stores' in educational institutions, so that students are encouraged to practice integrity, build themselves as patriotic citizens, and contribute to building a corruption-free society.
They said the 'Satata' store is not just a shop but a platform for promoting morality. It is a unique example of practicing honesty and self-restraint in institutional life from an early age, which is essential for staying free from corruption.
The chief guest said, "We have reached such a level of corruption that we do not know what will happen to our next generation. We all need to come together to build a corruption-free society for future generations.”
He called on CPC members to voluntarily step forward from their social responsibilities and work united way to eradicate corruption from society and leave a developed and corruption-free society for the next generation.
"I hope that the knowledge and skills acquired by the participants from the training workshop will contribute positively to their personal and professional lives and to promoting integrity and preventing corruption in society," he said.
Later, certificates were distributed among the participants.
