DHAKA, June 12, 2026 (BSS)- A mobile court today sentenced three candidates for adopting unfair means during the written examination for the post of Record Keeper under the Land Record and Survey Department.
The examination was held at Dr Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College centre in Demra, Dhaka.
According to officials, the accused were caught red-handed while attempting to cheat during the exam and were subsequently handed over to the mobile court.
Candidate KM Mozammel Haque was fined Taka 50 and sentenced to one day’s imprisonment under Section 188 of the Penal Code, 1860 for using a mobile phone during the examination.
Another candidate, Mst. Marzina Akter, was fined Taka 50 and sentenced to three days’ simple imprisonment for using an electronic specialised hearing device to gain unfair advantage in the exam.
In a separate case, it was found that one candidate, Md Mizanur Rahman, was impersonated by another individual identified as Faruk Mondal. For identity fraud, Faruk Mondal was fined Taka 100 and sentenced to one day’s imprisonment under the same section of the Penal Code.
The mobile court was conducted by Executive Magistrate Zakia Muntahim from the office of the Dhaka Deputy Commissioner.
Officials of the Department of Land Record and Survey said strict monitoring will continue in future recruitment examinations to ensure transparency, fairness and discipline, and legal action will be taken against anyone attempting to cheat.
A total of 8,013 candidates were scheduled to appear in the exam, of whom 6,895 were present.
