1,182 runners from 12 countries participate in CRB 10km run

CHATTOGRAM, June 5, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 1,182 runners from 12 countries, including host Bangladesh, participated in a 10-kilometer running event titled 'Sam Bond-CR Tenke 2026' at the city's CRB area today.

Chattala Runners organized the competition for the fifth consecutive time on World Environment Day with this year's theme 'Run the City'. 

Alongside the sports event, various initiatives were taken to raise public awareness on environmental and nature conservation.

Runners from different regions of the country assembled at CRB, recognized as the lungs of Chattogram, before 5:10 am. The race began at 5:45 am and concluded at 7:30 am.

In the open (main) category, Asadur Rahman Mohsin secured the first position touching the finish line in 38 minutes and 46 seconds. Noor-e-Alam finished second with a time of 40 minutes and 24 seconds, while Mohammad Ifti took third place clocking 41 minutes and 43 seconds. Mahfuzur Rahman and Shakhawat Hossain finished fourth and fifth respectively.

In the female category, Dr. Naureen Jahan achieved first place, followed by Zara and Ayesha Akhter in second and third positions respectively.

In the Generation Next (14-18 years) category, Mahfuz Rahman Turab claimed the top spot, while Akif Abed Akil and Md. Ferdous Amin secured second and third places respectively.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (South Division) Hossain Mohammad Kabir Bhuiyan distributed awards among the winners as the chief guest.
