DHAKA, June 02, 2026, (BSS) - Six more children have died with measles symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours, while the total number of affected patients during the period stood at 1,334.
According to a press release issued by the Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today, the number of suspected measles cases recorded in the last 24 hours was 1,292, bringing the total number of suspected cases to 73,362 from March 15 to June 2.
The release said 42 confirmed measles cases were reported during the past 24 hours. Since March 15, the total number of confirmed measles cases has reached 9,136.
From March 15 to June 2, a total of 59,106 patients with suspected measles were admitted to hospitals, while 54,812 patients recovered and were discharged during the same period.
No deaths from confirmed measles were reported in the last 24 hours. Since March 15, a total of 90 people have died from confirmed measles.
During the past 24 hours, six deaths were reported among suspected measles cases, raising the total number of deaths with suspected measles to 504 since March 15.
So far, the highest number of suspected measles cases, 34,497, has been recorded in Dhaka Division. Of them, 6,381 cases have been confirmed as measles.
