CHATTOGRAM, May 30, 2026 (BSS) - Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain on Saturday said anti-development forces are engaged in various conspiracies to hinder the country's progress and democratic advancement.
He called for national unity, inspired by the spirit of the Liberation War and the ideals of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman to thwart such conspiracies and sustain the country's development journey.
The was paying tribute to BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, Bir Uttam, marking his 45th martyrdom anniversary at the historic Biplob Udyan in the city's Sholashahar area.
Describing Biplob Udyan as a familiar site closely associated with Bangladesh's War of Independence, Dr. Shahadat said the site holds immense historical significance.
"On the night of March 25, 1971, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman called for resistance against the Pakistani occupation forces from this very place.
