DSCC aims to remove first day’s sacrificial animal waste by 9pm tonight

DHAKA, May 28, 2026 (BSS) - The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has taken comprehensive preparations for the quick removal of sacrificial waste on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha.

Dhaka south administrator Md. Abdus Salam formally inaugurated the sacrificial animal waste removal operation by transferring waste from the Kalabagan Secondary Transfer Station (STS) to the Matuail landfill.

He hoped DSCC would be able to remove sacrificial waste within 8 hours.

“We are hopeful that sacrificial animal waste will be totally removed from Dhaka south city by 9pm tonight,” he said.

Seeking cooperation from city residents to maintain a clean city, the administrator urged citizens to complete animal sacrifices at the designated locations to ensure rapid waste removal.

According to DSCC sources, a total of 13,453 sanitation workers and related officials and employees are working in the field on the first day of Eid. A target has been set to remove approximately 15,935 tons of sacrificial waste on the first day.

A comprehensive plan has been undertaken to remove a total of 33,942 tons of waste across the Dhaka south city area during the three days of Eid.
