MUNSHIGANJ, May 27, 2026 (BSS) – A total of 32,155 vehicles crossed Padma Bridge generating toll revenue of Tk 33,976,300 in the last 18 hours till 6pm today during the Eid-ul-Azha holiday.
According to sources at the Padma Bridge site office, even on the day before Eid, vehicles were moving at a normal pace through Padma Bridge toll plaza.
Some 22,575 southbound vehicles crossed through the Mawa end of the bridge, generating Tk 20,919,500 in tolls while 9,580 vehicles heading toward Dhaka crossed through the Jazira end, generating Tk 13,056,800 in toll revenue.
Executive Engineer Abu Sayed of the Padma Bridge site office told BSS that 10 toll booths including 3 motorcycle booths have been opened at the Mawa end, while 9 booths including 2 motorcycle booths are operating at the Jazira end to ensure faster toll payment.
Homebound Eid travelers from 21 southern districts are traveling comfortably and without suffering through the Padma Bridge on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway.
As there is no major traffic congestion or travel hardship, a larger number of passengers are using the expressway again this year.
