CHATTOGRAM, May 26, 2026 (BSS)- Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) has completed all preparations at Jamiatul Falah Eidgah Maidan for the main congregation of the holy Eid-ul-Azha.
The city's central Eid prayers will take place inside a massive pandal spanning approximately 65,000 square feet.
After the venue today CCC Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain said all arrangements are in place to allow devotees to take part in the Eid prayers.
Considering the rainfall, heavy-duty tarpaulins have been stretched over the pandal, and the entire maidan has been carpeted to ensure the congregation proceeds smoothly regardless of adverse weather.
According to CCC sources, 140 ceiling fans and 60 stand fans have been installed across the grounds. The venue is also equipped with adequate lighting, 70 microphones, and 30 CCTV cameras to ensure comprehensive security.
The mayor noted that, like previous years 20,000 to 25,000 worshippers are expected to attend the central congregation.
To accommodate the large crowd, two separate prayer sessions have been scheduled. The first and main congregation will take place at 7:00 AM, followed by a second session at 8:00 AM. In any inclement weather, prayers will be held inside the mosque.
The first congregation will be led by the Khatib of Jamiatul Falah Mosque Hazratul Allama Alhaj Syed Abu Taleb Mohammad Alauddin Alqaderi while the second namaj will be led by the mosque's Senior Pesh Imam Hafez Maulana Mohammad Ahmadul Haque.
Additionally, the CCC will arranged Eid congregations at nine other city mosques- Laldighi CCC Shahi Jame Mosque, Hazrat Sheikh Farid (RA) Chashma Eidgah Mosque, Sugandha Residential Area Jame Mosque, Chawkbazar City Corporation Jame Mosque, Zahur Hawkers Market Jame Mosque, Dakshin Khulshi (VIP) Residential Area Jame Mosque, Arefin Nagar Central Cemetery Jame Mosque, Sagarika Gorur Bazar Jame Mosque, Ma Ayesha Siddika (RA) CCC Jame Mosque (adjacent to the Sagarika Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium), all at 8 am.
During the field visit, the Mayor extended Eid greetings to city residents, urging everyone to embrace the true spirit of sacrifice by actively helping to build a clean and sustainable city.
The Mayor was accompanied by several senior officials, including CCC Acting Chief Executive Officer and Secretary Md. Ashraful Amin, Chief Conservancy Officer Captain Ikhtiar Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury and Chief Engineer Anisur Rahman
