CHATTOGRAM, April 11, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin today said students' innovative projects reflect the future potential of Bangladesh, as they are increasingly addressing real-world challenges.
Speaking as chief guest at the award ceremony of the 10th National Science Olympiad and National Science Quiz Competition in Hathazari, he praised participants for presenting practical solutions to issues like energy shortages, waste management and carbon emissions.
He noted that students are moving beyond conventional projects to more country-focused and sustainable ideas, expressing confidence in their role in building a better future.
The minister also highlighted the government's management of the energy sector during the global crisis, maintaining stability without officially raising prices.
The event, held at the Hathazari Upazila Parishad Conference Room, was presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Abdullah Al Mumin. Officials, teachers, students and journalists attended the function.
Winners were awarded certificates and prizes and sewing machines were distributed among underprivileged women to support self-employment.
Mir Helal said such science fairs are vital platforms for fostering innovation, responsibility and patriotism among the younger generation.
