DHAKA, Apr 8, 2026 (BSS) - A CNG auto-rickshaw driver was killed in a road accident involving a passenger bus in Farmgate area of Tejgaon in the capital today.
The deceased was identified as Mamun Forazi (33), son of Sikdar Forazi and hailed from Hirajheel area of Siddhirganj in Narayanganj district.
The accident occurred around 12:00 pm beneath the foot over bridge on the eastern side of the Daily Star building in Farmgate, police and hospital sources said.
Witnesses said the collision took place between a Labbayk bus and the CNG auto-rickshaw, leaving the driver critically injured.
He was rescued by passersby and rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead at around 1:15 in the afternoon.
Kazi Faisal, who took the victim to the hospital, said he was passing through the area at the time of the accident when he saw the CNG driver lying on the road.
Inspector Mohammad Faruk, in-charge of the police camp at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, confirmed the incident.
