DHAKA, Apr 8, 2026 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed a total of 1,604 cases against traffic law violators in different areas of the capital.
The drive was conducted on Tuesday across various divisions of the city.
The information was confirmed by Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) NM Nasiruddin of DMP.
In the Traffic-Ramna Division, a total of 83 cases were filed, including violations involving 2 buses, 1 truck, 2 covered vans, 13 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 33 motorcycles.
The Traffic-Lalbagh Division recorded 148 cases, including 18 buses, 11 trucks, 2 covered vans, 20 CNGs, and 75 motorcycles.
In the Traffic-Motijheel Division, the highest number of cases-431-were filed, involving 25 buses, 3 trucks, 20 covered vans, 126 CNGs, and 216 motorcycles.
The Traffic-Wari Division filed 219 cases, including 41 buses, 35 trucks, 18 covered vans, 15 CNGs, and 69 motorcycles.
Meanwhile, the Traffic-Tejgaon Division filed 157 cases, involving 7 buses, 4 trucks, 8 covered vans, 31 CNGs, and 71 motorcycles.
The Traffic-Mirpur Division recorded 275 cases, including 13 buses, 16 trucks, 17 covered vans, 42 CNGs, and 141 motorcycles.
n the Traffic-Uttara Division, 172 cases were filed, involving 25 buses, 6 trucks, 6 covered vans, 14 CNGs, and 58 motorcycles.
The Traffic-Gulshan Division filed 119 cases, including 10 buses, 2 trucks, 3 covered vans, 6 CNGs, and 35 motorcycles.
Additionally, during the drive, a total of 332 vehicles were dumped and 142 vehicles were towed.
The DMP stated that such drives will continue in the Dhaka metropolitan area to ensure traffic discipline and road safety.
