Paltan police recover, return 50 lost mobile phones to owners

DHAKA, March 3, 2026 (BSS) - Paltan Model Police Station has recovered 50 lost mobile phones and returned them to their rightful owners, continuing its ongoing efforts to assist citizens through technology-driven policing.

According to a police press release, the recoveries were made in response to general diaries (GD) filed by mobile phone owners who had lost their devices for various reasons. 

With the help of information technology, the phones were traced and recovered from different parts of the country between February 1 and February 28.

The recovery drive was conducted under the direction of higher authorities, with active involvement from Motijheel Zone Assistant Commissioner Hussain Muhammad Farabi and Assistant Sub-Inspector Iqbal Hossain of Paltan Model Police.

The recovered mobile phones were officially handed over to their owners on Monday at a ceremony held in the conference room of the police station. 

The event was attended by AC Hussain Muhammad Farabi, the Officer-in-Charge of Paltan Model Police Station, and other senior officials.

Police sources further revealed that over the past year, Paltan Model Police Station has successfully recovered more than 700 lost mobile phones and returned them to their rightful owners.

The recipients expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police for their prompt action and dedicated service in helping them retrieve their valuable belongings.
