DHAKA, Feb 26, 2026 (BSS) - Police today arrested three unidentified youths in connection with the fatal stabbing of student Shahriar Sharmin Binti (14) in Hazaribagh. 

The arrestee was identified as Siam alias Emon (19). He was taken into custody during a raid in the Kathal Bagan area under Kalabagan Police Station. 

During the drive, police also recovered a blood-stained knife, the victim's blood-stained clothes, and a mobile phone from him.

According to police sources, the victim Binti and the accused used to study at Rayer Bazar High School and developed a relationship. 

On Wednesday night, Siam allegedly attacked and injured Binti near Charkghata under Hazaribagh police station following a personal disagreement. 

She was rescued by local residents and taken to Sikder Medical Hospital in a critical condition. Later, she was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared her dead.
 
Following the incident, victim's father Md. Billal Hossain filed a murder case with Hazaribagh Police Station. 
 
Police tracked Siam's location with the help of intelligence information and technology and arrested him.
