DHAKA, Feb 25, 2026 (BSS)- Newly appointed Administrator of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Md. Shafiqul Islam Khan today inspected mosquito control and eradication activities immediately after assuming office.

Outgoing DNCC Administrator Suraiya Akhter Jahan formally handed over charge to the newly appointed administrator at the DNCC office in Gulshan this morning.

Soon after taking charge, the administrator, accompanied by State Minister for Health and Family Welfare M A Muhit, visited the DNCC mosquito control insecticide storage facility located in the Mirpur-2 area.

During the visit, the effectiveness of mosquito control insecticides was tested and the corporation’s overall preparedness to curb mosquito infestation in the city was reviewed.

Speaking after the inspection, DNCC Administrator Md. Shafiqul Islam Khan said, “We will work together with all concerned to build Dhaka as a safe and livable city.”

DNCC Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Asaduzzaman and Chief Health Officer Brigadier General Imrul Kayes Chowdhury, among others were present.
