DHAKA, Feb 25, 2026 (BSS) – A court here today imposed a travel ban on former commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Habibur Rahman, over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order, allowing a petition of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

According to the petition, Habibur Rahman and others are currently under investigation for acquiring illegal wealth and laundering money abroad through bribery, corruption, and recruitment trade.

As per the reliable sources, the accused person concerned is attempting to leave the country and travel abroad. If he manages to flee overseas, there is a strong possibility that the ongoing inquiry may be hampered.

“Therefore, it is imperative to impose a travel restriction on him to prevent his departure from the country,” it added.
