DHAKA, Feb 24, 2026 (BSS) - Newly appointed Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) administrator Md. Shafiqul Islam Khan today paid rich tributes to Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

The administrator, accompanied by BNP leaders and activists, visited the Zia Udyan in the capital this afternoon to offer Ziarat at their graves. 

During the visit, he prayed for the eternal peace of their departed souls and sought the Almighty's blessings for the peace, progress and prosperity of the nation.

Earlier in the morning, the newly appointed administrator joined the Local Government Division at the Secretariat to assume his duties at the DNCC. 

Following his joining, he held a courtesy meeting with the Minister for Local Government, Rural Development, and Cooperatives, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, and officially took over the responsibilities.

Later, he also paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

The newly appointed administrator expressed his firm commitment to prioritizing the overall development of Dhaka North City Corporation, improving the quality of public services and expanding civic amenities for the residents
