Kamarul president, Jahangir general secretary of BSS Employees’ Union

DHAKA, Feb 24, 2026 (BSS) - Md Kamarul Hoque has been elected president while Md Jahangir Hossain   general secretary and Nuruzzaman treasurer in the BSS Employees Union Election 2026.

The bi-annual general meeting and election of BSS Employees Union was held at BSS Bhaban at 11 am today.  BSS Employees Union President Mushtaq Ahmed presided over it.

In the 2026-2027 election, Md Kamarul Hoque was elected as the president bagging 40 votes. His close rival Md Faruk Ahmed Bhuiyan got 19 votes.

Md Jahangir Hossain passed unopposed for the post of general secretary. Md Gias Uddin was elected as the vice-president obtaining 52 votes while his rival Md Belal Uddin bagged 9 votes.

Md Ramzan Hossain was elected as the joint general secretary bagging 32 votes while his nearest rival Mizanur Rahman received 27 votes.

Md Jasim Uddin was elected as the organizing secretary with 30 votes while his rival Bulbul Ahmed got 29 votes.

Md Nuruzzaman was elected as the treasurer with 47 votes while his rival Md Saiful Islam received 10 votes.

Besides, Md Saiful Islam Sabuj was elected as the executive member with 43 votes, Md. Ismail Hossain Palash with 37 votes and Md. Kamruzazaman Liton with 27 votes.

Bangladesh Federal Union of Newspaper Press Workers Secretary General Mushtak Ahmed conducted the election by secret ballot for a-two year tenure. 

Earlier, the reports of the general secretary and the treasurer were presented in the meeting.
