DHAKA, Feb 24, 2026 (BSS) - The Ministry of Finance today said a Facebook 
event created using the name of State Minister for Finance Md Zonayed Abdur 
Rahim Saki is completely baseless and fabricated.

According to an official press release of the Ministry of Finance, an event 
circulated on the social media platform Facebook titled "Torch procession led 
by Md Zonayed Saki demanding resignation of the Home Minister over alleged 
harassment of a DU student by Ramna Zone DC Masud at Suhrawardy Udyan" has no 
connection with the State Minister.

The release mentioned that the event also referred to an alleged incident 
involving a student of the University of Dhaka at Suhrawardy Udyan.

The ministry categorically stated that the State Minister has no involvement 
whatsoever with the event and termed it a rumour aimed at creating confusion.

It also urged all concerned not to be misled by such fabricated and 
misleading content circulated on social media.

The State Minister also called upon the public to remain cautious and 
vigilant against rumours and false propaganda, the release added.
