DHAKA, Feb 19, 2026 (BSS) - Shairul Kabir Khan, member of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) media cell, has joined the Daily Shomoyer Alo as its advisory editor.

The managing director of the newspaper's owner-organisation - Amin Mohammad Group, Md Ramzanul Haque Nihad, handed over the appointment letter to Shairul Kabir Khan in Dhanmondi here this afternoon.

Amin Mohammad Foundation Executive Director Mohammad Tanvirul Islam, Shomoyer Alo publisher Faisal R Ferdous, Shomoyer Alo chief operating officer munif ammar, chief business officer ehsanul habib sadi welcomed the new advisory editor.

Later in the afternoon, Shairul Kabir officially joined the Shomoyer Alo office at Bangla Motor. At that time, the acting editor of Shomoyer Alo, Shahnewaz Karim, and the staff and journalists of the newspaper welcomed him with bouquet.

After studying at Abu Abbas College in Netrakona, Shairul Kabir Khan worked as Atpara correspondent and later Netrokona district correspondent of the Daily Dinkal.

Shairul Kabir Khan is working directly as a member of the BNP media cell, the Chairman's Media Wing.

Shairul Kabir Khan has been associated with the BNP Chairperson Press Wing since 2007. BNP chairman and current Prime Minister Tarique Rahman appointed him as a member when he formed the 'first BNP Media Cell'.

A documentary film on the Liberation War was planned and directed by Shairul Kabir Khan. Former late Prime Minister Khaleda Zia unveiled the film at the State Guest House Jamuna. It was later broadcast on Bangladesh Television.

Along with regular writing, singing, and research, Shairul Kabir Khan has returned to active journalism.

Taking about his new responsibility, Shairul Kabir Khan said, “I am a writer; I want to be more focused on the media and journalists for the sake of the party and the country.”
