Digital twin technology redefining future of intelligent systems: Experts

DHAKA, Feb 18, 2026 (BSS) - Experts and academicians today said digital twin technology is revolutionizing the landscape of intelligent systems, offering unprecedented capabilities in design, simulation and real-time optimization.

They made these observations at a seminar titled 'Digital Twin: Transforming the Future of Intelligent Systems,' jointly organized by Dhaka University (DU) and the Daffodil AI club at the international conference hall (ICH) of Daffodil International University (DIU).

Professor Dr. Sheak Rashed Haider Noori, head of the department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at DIU, said digital twin technology is no longer a futuristic concept but a present-day necessity.

"It is fundamentally changing how we approach system optimization. We must encourage our students to dive deep into research and lead the way in developing responsible and ethical AI," he added.

Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque, chairman of the CSE department at Dhaka University, highlighted the interdisciplinary nature of the field. He noted that the convergence of artificial intelligence (AI), cyber-physical systems, and high-fidelity simulation is opening new frontiers for multidimensional research that can solve complex real-world problems.

Representing the industry, GIS Analysts Sakib Rahman Siddique and Wahid Ibne Zakir demonstrated how geospatial intelligence enhances digital twin platforms.

Professor Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Dean of the faculty of Science and Information Technology at DIU, emphasized that while the technology strengthens predictive analysis, the 'human element' remains vital.

Professor Dr. Farnaz Narin Nur, convener of the Daffodil AI Club, concluded that the seminar's primary goal was to bridge the gap between academia and industry.
