KHAGRACHHARI, Feb 14, 2026 (BSS) - Khagrachari welcomed the first day of Falgun and World Valentine's Day with vibrant celebrations, colorful attire, and widespread public enthusiasm today.
With the arrival of spring, nature seemed to open its southern door as the gentle Falgun breeze swept across the district. The melodious call of the cuckoo and the blooming Palash and Shimul flowers added to the festive atmosphere, signaling the change of season.
Men and women of all ages marked Pahela Falgun-the first day of spring in the Bengali calendar-by adorning themselves with flowers and wearing bright, traditional outfits. Yellow, orange, and red dominated the streets, reflecting the colors of spring.
At the same time, residents also celebrated World Valentine's Day, creating a unique blend of cultural and global observances. A large crowd of teenagers and young people was seen gathering at flower shops, parks, and recreational centers throughout the district.
From early morning, flower shops experienced a surge in customers. Many bought flowers to decorate themselves for the spring festivities, while others purchased bouquets and floral arrangements to present to their loved ones on Valentine's Day.
Various cultural programs, gatherings, and special events were organized across different parts of the district to mark the twin celebrations. The combined observance of Pahela Falgun and Valentine's Day turned Khagrachari into a lively hub of joy, love, and seasonal festivity.
