Anee expresses satisfaction after casting his vote

LAKSHMIPUR, Feb 12, 2026 (BSS) - BNP candidates of Lakshmipur-3 constituency Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee has expressed satisfaction with the overall environment in the morning after casting his vote. 

He said, “The long-awaiting hopes of the people are going to be reflected. People have had to struggle for this election for a long time. So far, the voting environment has been very good. If the voting environment is like this, and people can vote in a festive atmosphere, then I am optimistic about my victory.”

He told these to reporters after casting his vote at the Lamchari Government Primary School polling center in the town. 

Besides, Jamaat-e-Islami candidate of the constituency Dr Rezaul Karim Choupalli cast his vote at Kalidas High School polling center.

He said, “The voting atmosphere is good. I am optimistic about my victory.”

Voting has begun in a festive atmosphere at 496 polling centres in four constituencies of Lakshmipur from 7:30 am amid tight security. 

However, the presence of women voters is much higher than that of men in the morning. 

A total of 29 candidates including BNP, Jamaat and NCP are contesting in the four constituencies. The number of voters in the district is- 16,37,956. 

About 10,000 personnel of law enforcement agencies including police, RAB, BGB, Ansar are in the field to maintain law and order.
