We won't allow vote rigging: Sarjis Alam

PANCHAGARH, Feb 9, 2026, (BSS) - NCP north region convener and Jamaat-led 11 party alliance candidate for Panchagarh -1 constituency Sarjis Alam today said that they, in no way, will allow any kind to vote rigging and protect the ballots even by the costs of life and blood.
 
"If necessary, we are ready to sacrifice our lives, but we won't allow a single vote to be stolen. Those who are dreaming of vote rigging should bid farewell to their homes, they will end up in hospital," he said.

He was speaking at an election campaign at the Jalashi Area of Panchagarh Poura Town area.

Reminding the fates of previous election commissioners, he said, "If the current EC, even minimally, tries to realize any attempt to election engineering, their fates will be the worst that they even couldn't imagine."  

He added that steps will also be taken over the next five years to upgrade Tetulia and Atwari into municipalities. "Panchagarh will see the establishment of a full-fledged hospital with 250 beds and an ICU, along with a medical college and a university," he said.

"To ease traffic congestion, a bypass road will be constructed outside the city, its approval and work could begin this year. Alongside, Panchagarh Sugar Mill will be revived under my tenure, accompanied by industrial development creating jobs," he added.

Sarjis Alam also spoke about workers' welfare, saying the votes of labour community were bought for 200-500 taka, and then kept in slavery for five years. 

"We promise that the next generation of workers will not have to remain laborers. Their children will become engineers, doctors, and barristers. We will establish a Workers' Welfare Trust to ensure education, healthcare, and income even during unemployment," he noted.

Sarjis also expressed firm determination to free govt and administrative organization from political influence for better citizen services.
 
Convener of the district NCP ABM Zulfikar Ali Nayon chaired the election campaign. Other speakers included District Jamaat Ameer Maulana Iqbal Hossain, Naeyeb Ameer Maulana Mofiz Uddin, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Panchagarh District President Mir Morshed Tuhin, Panchagarh City Jamaat Ameer Maulana Zainal Abedin and District Chhatra Shibir Secretary Mohibullah Muhib.
