DHAKA, Feb 9, 2026 (BSS) - Police have arrested two drug dealers and seized 
38 kilograms of marijuana and a covered van from Mugda Police Station area in 
the city. 

The arrested were identified as Md Sohel Rana, 35, and Md Bapparaj, said a 
press release, issued by the media and public relations division of Dhaka 
Metropolitan Police (DMP), here today.

Police produced them before the court for taking further legal action, it 
added.

According to the release, a team of the Detective Branch (DB) of Police under 
Motijheel Division of the DMP conducted a raid in Sayedabad Bus Stand area 
about 10:40 pm yesterday and arrested them along with the contraband 
marijuana.

The DB police also seized a covered van from their possession.

The plain clothe police carried out the operation based on confidential 
information, the DMP release added.

A case was filed with Mugda Police Station under Narcotics Control Act 
against the arrested persons.
