DHAKA, Feb 7, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,469 cases against traffic law violators in different areas of the capital over the last two days as part of its ongoing drive to ensure traffic discipline.
According to DMP press release, the cases were filed on Thursday and Friday by various traffic divisions across Dhaka.
The Traffic–Ramna division filed 142 cases, while Traffic–Lalbagh registered 145 cases. Traffic–Motijheel recorded 278 cases, and Traffic–Wari filed 116 cases during the operation.
Meanwhile, Traffic–Tejgaon filed 169 cases, Traffic–Mirpur registered the highest number with 285 cases, Traffic–Uttara filed 211 cases, and Traffic–Gulshan recorded 146 cases.
The violations involved different types of vehicles, including buses, trucks, covered vans, CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and motorcycles. Motorcycles accounted for a significant portion of the cases in most divisions.
In addition to filing cases, the DMP traffic division also dumped 557 vehicles and wrecked 214 vehicles during the enforcement drive.
DMP officials said the campaign will continue across the Dhaka metropolitan area to improve traffic management and ensure compliance with traffic laws.
