DHAKA, Feb 6, 2026 (BSS) – Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir today held a colourful procession and rally in the capital marking its 49th founding anniversary with the slogan 'Building Tomorrow’s Bangladesh with Merit, Integrity and Patriotism'.

Led by Central President Nurul Islam Saddam, the rally began from the Central Shaheed Minar and ended at Shahbag after parading different city streets with the participation of a large number of leaders and activists.

The rally at Shahbag was presided over by Nurul Islam Saddam and conducted by Secretary General Sibgatullah. 

Former Central President Zahidul Islam spoke as the main discussant while former Central Dawah Secretary Shah Mahfuzul Haque and former Central Executive Council member Dr Abdul Mannan attended as special guests.

Addressing the gathering, Nurul Islam Saddam said Islami Chhatra Shibir has emerged as a symbol of hope for students over its 49-year journey despite repression and challenges. 

He reiterated the organisation’s commitment to building a just, values-based Bangladesh and urged students to unite in nation-building efforts.

He stressed taking an uncompromising stand against injustice and appealed for a “Yes” vote in the upcoming referendum.

Speakers recalled the historical significance of Shahbag and remembered martyrs Abu Sayeed, Abrar Fahad and Osman Hadi, demanding justice for their killings.

Leaders of different student organisations and Islami Chhatra Shibir were also present on the occasion.
