RANGPUR, Feb 5, 2026 (BSS) - A drill exercise was held on the army's activities to deal with any type of unpleasant situations in Rangpur division during the upcoming February 12 referendum and the 13th Jatiya Sangsad Elections-2026.
 
The exercise was held by the Commando Group of the 66 Infantry Division of Bangladesh Army at the Rangpur Cricket Garden ground this afternoon. 
 
Under the direction of the GOC of the 66 Infantry Division and Rangpur Area Commander Major General Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, it was announced after the exercise that the army is completely ready to handle any kind of volatile situation during the elections. 
 
A 10-member Para Commando Group landed at the Rangpur Cricket Garden ground by helicopter in the exercise.  
 
On the day of the elections, they demonstrated how they would deal with the situation by dropping helicopters if chaos broke out in any center in the remote areas of Rangpur division. 
 
Hundreds of people of all ages stood on the roadside to observe the spectacular exercise of the army.
