DHAKA, Feb 5, 2026 (BSS)- A court here today granted bail to Sarwar Alam, 
assistant programmer of the ICT section of Bangabhaban, in a case filed over 
the hacking of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman's verified 
X account.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Awlad Hossain Mohammad Zunayed 
passed the order on a Taka 5,000 bond after police produced the accused in 
court and sought his remand until the completion of the investigation.

According to the case documents, Dr Shafiqur Rahman's X account was hacked at 
4:55 pm on Monday (January 31). Md. Sirazul Islam, member of the Jamaat's 
2026 National Election Steering Committee and coordinator of the Campaign 
Division, filed the case with Hatirjheel Police Station on February 4.
