DHAKA, Feb 5, 2026 (BSS) – The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed a total of 1,561 cases against vehicles, owners and drivers for violating traffic rules.
DMP traffic police dumped 523 motor vehicles and towed 213 others during a campaign against traffic rule violations on February 4, according to a press release issued today.
The release said several teams of the DMP Traffic Division have been working across the capital to ensure a smoother traffic system and facilitate easier movement for city dwellers, adding that drives against traffic violators will continue in a bid to maintain discipline on Dhaka’s streets.
During the drive, the Ramna Division filed 128 cases, Lalbagh Division 151, Motijheel Division 177, Wari Division 138, Tejgaon Division 173, Mirpur Division 300, Uttara Division 228, and Gulshan Division 158 against motor vehicles as well as three-wheelers and motorcycles, it added.
