DHAKA, Feb 4, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami today unveiled its election manifesto, outlining 26 priority areas aimed at building a resilient, humane and safe Bangladesh.

The manifesto was unveiled by Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at a Dhaka hotel this evening.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rahman emphasized that his political vision transcends party victory. "I do not seek Jamaat's victory alone. I seek the victory of all 180 million citizens of Bangladesh. I do not believe in politics centered on a single group or family; I believe in the politics of the people," he said.

He added that the manifesto was prepared after extensive consultation with citizens at all levels. "Millions of people from grassroots to urban levels have shared their insights and suggestions with us. Their ideas have shaped this manifesto, which, Insha'Allah, will be people-friendly, business-friendly, peace-friendly, and discipline-friendly," Dr. Rahman said.

Jamaat Chief highlighted the party's commitment to fostering private sector growth, supporting industrialists who provide employment to millions, and nurturing industries like one would care for a newborn. "If we care for our industries today, they will sustain our nation tomorrow," he added.

Dr. Rahman further stressed balanced industrial relations, stating, "Our policy will not pit employers against workers but foster coordination and understanding. To save industries, we must empower workers, and workers must understand that the prosperity of industry ensures their own well-being."

On the party's long-term vision, he said, "We always say the party is bigger than the individual, and the country is bigger than the party. Over 54 years, we have strived to translate this slogan into reality, linking our struggles from 1947, 1971, to the July mass uprising. This manifesto is not merely a party program but a living document reflecting our nation-building plan, based on the aspirations and guidance of the people."

The manifesto is structured around 26 key areas. The first section emphasizes building an equitable, strong, and humane Bangladesh. Subsequent sections focus on independent foreign policy, robust defense capabilities, energy sector reform, sustainable economic growth, and job creation.

It also addresses agriculture and food security, fisheries and livestock development, environmental protection and climate change mitigation, education and healthcare improvement, infrastructure development, and youth-led technology initiatives.
