DHAKA, Feb 4, 2026 (BSS) - Chief of the Navy Admiral M Nazmul Hasan called upon all concerned, including the Bangladesh Navy, other law enforcement agencies and local administration, to work together so that the common people can franchise their voting rights in a festive atmosphere without any fear.
The Navy Chief came up with the call while visiting Kutubdia and Sandwip, as part of his countrywide visit ahead of the upcoming 13the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Election and Referendum, according to a release of the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate here this evening.
He also instructed everyone to closely monitor the overall situation at the voting centers, maintain law and order and take maximum precautionary measures to ensure the safety of voters.
During the visit to Kutubdia and Sandwip, the Navy Chief exchanged views with the civil administration, law enforcement agencies and election-related individuals.
ISPR said Bangladesh Navy is performing duties in 25 upazilas in 16 parliamentary constituencies under the ‘In Aid to Civil Power’ to organize the upcoming 13th JS polls and Referendum in a free, fair, impartial and peaceful manner.
In addition to the deployment of Navy ships in Bhola, Hatia, Sandwip, Cox's Bazar and St. Martin's areas, there is a sufficient number of boats to strengthen the security of the coastal and island areas.
Modern technology-based surveillance activities have been strengthened to prevent any mischief, violence and chaos by vested interests surrounding the elections, the ISPR added.
The navy chief said the Navy is conducting regular patrols and foot patrols.
Navy ships, helicopters, Quick Response Force (QRF) and SWADS teams are always ready to deal with any situation that arises.
The Bangladesh Navy is committed to holding a peaceful, fair, free and acceptable election, the ISPR added.
