DHAKA, Feb 3, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 30 people across different areas of the capital in the last 24 hours under Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2, part of its ongoing crackdown on crime.
DMP Deputy Police Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed the development.
According to DMP officials, the arrests were made on Monday following day-long operations in crime-prone areas under 12 police stations.
Gulshan Police Station arrested two persons, Lalbagh one, Sutrapur three, Mohammadpur four, Khilgaon one, Hazaribagh nine, Turag one, Chakbazar one, Jatrabari five, Rampura one, Uttarkhan one, and Hatirjheel one.
The arrestees include individuals of various ages, including repeat offenders and suspects involved in different criminal activities.
Hazaribagh Police Station recorded the highest number of arrests with nine, the DMP release said.
DMP officials said the operations were conducted based on intelligence reports and routine patrols aimed at curbing crime across the capital.
All arrested persons have been produced before the court, police sources confirmed.
The Operation Devil Hunt is being conducted regularly to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of city residents. Such drives will continue, Muhammad Talebur Rahman added.
