DHAKA, Feb 2, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) Vice President Md Abu Shadik Kayem has said that if Jamaat-e-Islami comes to power, it will implement a zero-tolerance policy to eliminate extortion and corruption from the country.

"Violence, extortion, and corruption would have no place in Bangladesh under Jamaat's leadership," he told an electoral rally in the Shyampur area of the Dhaka-4 constituency on Sunday night.

He was the chief speaker at the rally, which was chaired by Abdul Rahim Jibon, the director of the Dhaka-4 constituency committee. Local leaders of the 11-party alliance also spoke at the event.

Kayem, also central publication secretary of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, emphasized that Jamaat's former Ameer Motiur Rahman Nizami and former Secretary General Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid, had both served as ministers without ever being accused of corruption.

"No one has ever brought a single allegation of corruption against them, because there is no corruption in Jamaat-e-Islami. There is no place for corruption within our party," he said.

The DUCSU VP added, "For the past 54 years of independence, the leaders we have chosen and made ministers and MPs have betrayed us. This time, we cannot afford to make the same mistake."

Shadik Kayem urged the people not to be deceived, advising them to vote for Daripalla (The Scale) symbol, assuring that under the leadership of Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Bangladesh would never lose its way again.

In his speech, Syed Zainul Abedin, the Dhaka-4 parliamentary candidate from the 11-party alliance, emphasized Jamaat-e-Islami's resilience, stating, "Even after years of oppression and persecution, Jamaat-e-Islami has never been disconnected from the people and will never be."

He called on the people of Dhaka-4 to transform their neglected area into a modern, developed city by casting their vote for 'Daripalla' (Scale) symbol on February 12 and giving Jamaat the opportunity to form the government.
