BAGERHAT, Feb 2, 2026 (BSS) - A joint team comprising the Army, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and police conducted an inspection of the Chingari Sheikh Mohammad Rakibuzzaman High School polling station in Chitalmari Upazila this afternoon.

The inspection was led by Chitalmari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Sajjad Hossain. 

Members of the joint force, including personnel from BGB's Nil Dumur Battalion-17, reviewed the polling centre and surrounding election-related areas to assess the overall security situation.

Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mithun Moitra, Officer-in-Charge of Chitalmari Police Station Md. Nazrul Islam, Sub-Inspector Liton Kumar Biswas, Chitalmari Army Base Camp Captain Md. Sanjid, and BGB Chitalmari Base Camp Havildar Md. Asir Hossain were present during the visit, along with other concerned officials.

Authorities said that such joint security activities will continue to ensure the elections are held in a free, fair and peaceful manner.
