DHAKA, Feb 02, 2026 (BSS) – A court here today imposed a travel ban on former public prosecutor (PP) of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court, Md Abdullah Abu, his wife Monowara Begum, son Kazi Ahsan Ullah Shibli and daughter Kazi Amrin Sultana.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The ACC plea said an investigation is underway into allegations that Abdullah Abu, in collusion with judges of the Dhaka CMM Court and Judge Court, facilitated bail, acquittal, sentence reduction and remission for gold traders, drug dealers and VIP accused in exchange for large sums of money, laundered funds abroad and amassed assets beyond known sources of income in his own and family members’ names.

 It added that, according to reliable sources, he and other concerned persons may flee abroad, making a travel ban necessary in the interest of a fair investigation.
