DHAKA, Jan 30, 2026 (BSS) - Adviser to the BNP Chairman and Chief Coordinator of the Dhaka-17 constituency BNP Election Management Committee Bir Muktijoddha Abdus Salam today said that they are getting a massive response from voters in favor of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman in Dhaka-17 constituency.
He said, "Since the announcement of Tarique Rahman’s name as a candidate, interest and enthusiasm have been generated among voters across Dhaka-17 constituency."
Abdus Salam made the remarks to journalists while campaigning for Dhaka-17 constituency in favor of Tarique Rahman.
“Wherever we are going, people there are saying only one thing - they will not vote for anyone else, they want to vote for Tarique Rahman. People have taken this decision for the sake of development and to solve the problems of their own area,” he added.
Regarding allegations against the opposition side, Abdus Salam said that they do not have any such allegations as are being raised against BNP. He claimed that those who are being talked about have only gotten their security deposits back in the past when they were with BNP. At other times, contesting elections independently, they did not even get their security deposits back.
The BNP leader further said, “Today, through various media, attempts are being made to portray them on a large scale in a planned manner. This is part of a conspiracy to question and sabotage the election. Those who want to obstruct the election are trying to create a parallel force.”
Mentioning that the BNP candidate will win from this constituency with a huge margin of votes, In the past, Begum Khaleda Zia won from a larger constituency, he said, adding that this time too, the people will ensure victory by exercising their voting rights.
He said, “This is not an election of any individual or party; this is an election to bring back the country, the government, and democracy. This election is to complete the unfinished work of the country.”
