DHAKA, Jan 30, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 504 people were arrested across the country in joint operations conducted over the last week, from January 23 to January 29, according to a press release issued today by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During the raids, law enforcement agencies recovered 48 illegal firearms, 75 rounds of assorted ammunition, 95 crude bombs, locally-made weapons, and various narcotics.
The Bangladesh Army, in coordination with other law enforcement agencies, carried out multiple operations in different parts of the country, including the capital, the release said.
Units from various infantry divisions and independent brigades took part in the drives to maintain overall law and order, it added.
Among those arrested were suspected terrorists, drug dealers and addicts members of robber gangs, juvenile gang members, and smugglers, according to the ISPR release.
The detainees were reportedly caught red-handed during the operations.
All arrested individuals have been handed over to the respective police stations for further interrogation and legal proceedings, it continued.
The press release also stated that the Bangladesh Army is continuing regular patrols and security operations nationwide to ensure public safety. In addition, the army is actively performing its duties to control labor unrest in industrial areas.
ISPR emphasized that such operations will continue in the interest of maintaining peace and stability across the country.
The public has been urged to inform the nearest army camp if any suspicious or unusual activities are noticed.
