DHAKA, Jan 29, 2026 (BSS) - The government today appointed additional secretaries Md Farhad Siddiq and Shah Mohammad Mahbub to Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) and Department of Social Services (DSS) as DGs respectively.

The public administration ministry issued two separate notifications in this regard signed by joint secretary Abul Haiyat Md Rafique. 

According to the first notification, member secretary (additional secretary) of National Pay Commission, 2025 Md Farhad Siddiq has been appointed as the DG of BBS.

Another notification said that the government appointed additional secretary of Youth and Sports Ministry Shah Mohammad Mahbub to the DSS as its DG.

The transfer order issued for public interest will come into effect immediately, the notification added.
