DHAKA, Jan 28, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 52
people from different parts of the capital in the last 24 hours as part of
Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2 in the last 24 hours.
The arrests were made following day-long drives conducted in crime-prone
areas under 19 police stations, including Kotwali, Demra, Mohammadpur,
Tejgaon, Hazaribagh, Badda, Paltan, Adabor, Bangshal, Chawkbazar, Kalabagan,
Jatrabari, Rampura, Gandaria, Darussalam, Shilpanchal, Shahbagh, Wari and
Uttara Paschim.
According to police, Hazaribagh Police Station arrested the highest number of
suspects 12 while Jatrabari Police Station detained eight individuals.
Mohammadpur Police Station arrested six people, Shahbagh five, Rampura three
and Badda, Paltan, Kalabagan and Darussalam Police Stations detained two
each.
One person was arrested from each of the remaining police station areas.
Police sources said the operation targeted known crime-prone areas as part of
ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities in the capital city.
