DHAKA, Jan 27, 2026 (BSS) - Police have arrested three people in connection with an attack on members of the Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) in Madhabdi of Narsingdi.

The arrestees were identified as Md Alal Sarkar, Md Roni Mia and Md Rifat Mia.

Law enforcers are conducting raids in different parts of Narsingdi to arrest other suspects involved in the incident. Police said that CCTV footage from the area helped identify those responsible.

The incident occurred on Monday evening when CRAB members were returning to Dhaka by bus after attending the organisation's 'Family Day' programme.

The buses were temporarily parked near Dream Holiday Park when a group of local miscreants demanded extortion money from the journalists. As the reporters refused, the attackers carried out a sudden assault.

At least ten journalists were injured in the attack, four of them critically. Police said investigation into the incident is underway.
