SUNAMGANJ, Jan 27, 2026 (BSS) - Ameer of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis and 11-party alliance leader Maulana Mamunul Haque has urged the people to unite and build an equal Bangladesh on the foundation of the July Mass Uprising.
He made the remarks during an election rally for Advocate Maulana Shahinur Pasha, the 11-party alliance candidate for the Sunamganj-3 constituency, held on Tuesday afternoon in Jagannathpur upazila.
Haque criticized the major political parties, saying they have repeatedly failed to bring meaningful change to the country. "A mass movement has emerged across the nation in favor of the 11-party alliance to change power. A circle is conspiring to divide people. So be alert, be aware, and stay united," he said.
He also called on voters to support the movement to protect the dignity of the July Uprising. "In the past, corruption and hooliganism dominated politics. Parties in power exploited the nation for their own benefit rather than working for the people. We have united to end 54 years of looting and corruption and bring real change," Haque added.
The rally was presided over by Khelafat Majlis Sunamganj District President Mufti Maulana Azizul Haque.
Other prominent speakers included Advocate Maulana Shahinur Pasha Chowdhury, former vice-president of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Sunamganj District Branch Maulana Nurul Alam Khan Jahangir, District General Secretary Hafiz Syed Joynul Islam, Joint General Secretary Maulana Saifur Rahman Sajawar, Jagannathpur Upazila President Maulana Abdul Muneem Shahin Kamali, Vice Presidents Maulana Nuruzzaman and Maulana Omar Faruk, Upazila Sramik Majlis
General Secretary Oliur Rahman Chan Mia and Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Jagannathpur Upazila Joint General Secretary Maulana Tarek Ahmed.
The rally highlighted the alliance's commitment to political reform and called on citizens to participate actively in shaping a corruption-free and equal Bangladesh.
