DHAKA, Jan 26, 2026 (BSS) - BNP Health Affairs Secretary Dr Md Rafiqul Islam today said BNP will eliminate corruption in the health sector and ensure medical services for all.
He said, “Following the directives of the BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, the party has long stood by the people. We supported the common people during crises like Covid-19, floods, droughts, and other difficult times.”
Dr Rafiqul made the remarks at the free medical camp and healthcare service programme organized by nationalist doctors in the capital's Bhasantek Sagorika slum on the occasion of the 90th birth anniversary of the Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.
He said that a special medical camp has been organized for the slum dwellers and low-income people, to provide medical services to people of all ages.
He further said that the party's Chairman Tarique Rahman, has long understood the problems of the common people by standing beside them and, if elected in the future, will give special importance to the country's health sector and development activities.
“Special work is underway to prevent corruption in the health sector, improve the health of pregnant mothers and children, establish a modern referral system, solve vaccination problems, and enact health protection laws,” he said.
Dr Rafiqul urged leaders and activists of BNP to remain vigilant during the election day.
“On the election day, after the Fajr prayer, we must remain present at polling centres from the beginning of voting until it ends to prevent any irregularities. The people will reap the benefits of the 17-year-long struggle for democracy by exercising their voting rights of franchise," he added.
