DHAKA, Jan 26, 2026 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,811 cases against traffic law violators during a citywide operation conducted on Sunday.
According to a DMP press release, the highest number of cases was recorded in the Traffic-Mirpur division, where 734 cases were filed, mostly against motorcycles.
Other divisions also saw significant enforcement actions, including 242 cases in Traffic-Motijheel, 184 in Traffic-Uttara, 178 in Traffic-Tejgaon, 155 in Traffic-Gulshan, 116 in Traffic-Lalbagh, 109 in Traffic-Ramna, and 93 in Traffic-Wari.
The violations involved various types of vehicles, including buses, trucks, covered vans, CNG auto-rickshaws, and motorcycles.
During the operation, police also dumped 419 vehicles and seized 122 others.
The DMP stated that such drives will continue regularly to ensure traffic discipline and improve road safety across the Dhaka metropolitan area.
