RAJSHAHI, Jan 25, 2026 (BSS)- BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman is scheduled to
visit Rajshahi on January 29 to attend an election rally.
Centering on his visit, there is widespread enthusiasm and excitement among
party leaders and activists in Rajshahi city and its surrounding areas.
According to the itinerary, upon arriving in Rajshahi on January 29, BNP
Chairperson Tarique Rahman will go directly to the historic Madrasa Field,
where he will join the election rally.
At the rally, he will introduce the party's nominated candidates contesting
under the Sheaf of Paddy symbol and will formally hand over the symbol to
them. He will also seek votes.
On this occasion, BNP leaders visited the Madrasa Field on Sunday afternoon.
Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP Vice-President Oliul Haque Rana said that although
Tarique Rahman's visit to Rajshahi was initially scheduled for January 28, it
was later postponed by one day to January 29.
All necessary preparations are being taken to ensure the success of the
rally.
Earlier on Saturday night (January 24), a meeting was held at the residence
of BNP leader and parliamentary candidate for the Sadar constituency, Mizanur
Rahman Minu, in the Padma Residential Area of Rajshahi city, where
discussions took place regarding Tarique Rahman's visit.
Later, BNP Rajshahi Divisional Organising Secretary Syed Shaheen Saikat said
BNP leaders and activists across the greater Rajshahi region are making
extensive preparations in connection with this visit.
He said Tarique Rahman's visit is extremely important, as at the rally he
will present the party's election pledges and political direction to the
people of Rajshahi.
At the same time, he will clarify the party's strategic position ahead of the
upcoming national parliamentary election. He also said that after the rally,
Tarique Rahman will proceed to Bogura via Naogaon.
