BOGURA, Jan 24, 2026 (BSS) - A doa mahfil was held in the district today marking the 11th death anniversary of prominent sports organiser Arafat Rahman Koko, the youngest son of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
The event was organised by the family at Baitur Rahman Central Mosque after Asr prayers. The doa mahfil was conducted seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of Arafat Rahman Koko.
Former Bogura Mayor and BNP Chairperson's Advisory Council member Advocate Mahabubur Rahman attended the programme along with senior leaders and activists of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its affiliated bodies.
Bogura District BNP President Rezaul Karim Badsha, former District BNP Convener Advocate Saiful Islam, former District BNP General Secretary Fazlul Bari Talukder Belal, family member Syed Aminul Haque Dewan Sajal, District BNP Organizing Secretary Shahid Un Nabi Salam, District BNP Organising Secretary (2) KM Khairul Bashar, BNP Media Cell Rajshahi and Rangpur
Divisional Coordinator Kalam Azad, former councilors Touhidul Islam Bitu, Saiduzzaman Shakil and Abdul Gafur Dara were present, among others.
Leaders of BNP's associate bodies including District Jubo Dal President Jahangir Alam, Organisational Secretary Harunur Rashid Sujan, Town Jubo Dal Organising Secretary Sourav Hasan Shiplu, former Town JASAS General Secretary Rasheduzzaman Piyas, District Chhatra Dal President Habibur Rashid Sandhan, and co-chairmen Shoaib Islam Obi, Al Amin Sarkar and Ujjal Hossain were also present.
The prayer was led by Imam Maulana Abdullah of Baitur Rahman Central Mosque.
After the mahfil, food was distributed among the people.
