DHAKA, Jan 19, 2026 (BSS) - Police today sought information from people to identify an unidentified a dead body of 60 years old, which is now kept at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital.
The male was wearing a white sky-blue print fatwa and a white blue check lungi with 5 feet 2 inches tall, a Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said.
Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) Muhammad Talebur Rahman issued the release.
He said Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station called for help in identifying the unidentified deceased.
The release said on January 9, 2026, at approximately 7:05 pm, the duty doctor of emergency department of Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital declared the person dead.
The investigating officer prepared a post-mortem report of the victim of the hospital and sent it to the Forensic Medicine Department of Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College for autopsy, it said.
“If anyone can identify the deceased with a picture, are requested to contact the Officer-in-Charge of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station (01320040914) or the investigating officer Sub Inspector Md Shamsujjoha Sarkar (01722306028),” the release said.
It said although police investigated into the matter but failed to get relatives of the deceased. A general diary (GD) was filed with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station in this regard.
