
DHAKA, Jan 19, 2026 (BSS) - The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 today took cognisance of a formal charge against 12 people, including former Narayanganj-4 lawmaker Shamim Osman and his son Imtinan Osman Ayon, alias Ayon Osman, for alleged crimes against humanity during the July Mass Uprising, and issued arrest warrants.
The three-member tribunal, headed by Justice Golam Mortuza Mozumder, passed the order in response to a prosecution plea and fixed January 26 for producing the accused before the court.
"We have brought three charges against them for killing 10 people in Narayanganj on July 19, 21 and August 5, 2024," said prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim.
The prosecution filed the formal charge at the ICT Registrar's office this morning.
Earlier, on October 12, 2025, the tribunal had set January 11, 2026, for submitting the probe report in a case against Ayon Osman and seven others, lodged over crimes against humanity in Narayanganj during the July-August Mass Uprising.
According to the prosecution, Shamim Osman and his cohorts carried out mass killings in an attempt to suppress the Mass Uprising, committing crimes against humanity in Narayanganj.
