DHAKA, Jan 17, 2026 (BSS) - Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) activist Muttakin today presented the national flag -- the same flag he had displayed during the student-led mass uprising on July 18, 2024 -- to BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman.

During the uprising, Muttakin stood atop the Kajla Flyover in Jatrabari, holding the national flag tightly against his chest. An image of that moment later went viral on social media. The very flag that was flown at the Kajla Flyover on that day was handed over to Tarique Rahman.

Muttakin met the BNP Chairman at his office in Gulshan in the afternoon and formally presented the flag. 

Tarique Rahman thanked him for the gesture, said BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan.

JCD President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir were present, among others.
