DHAKA, Jan 17, 2025 (BSS) - The Election Commission (EC) today authorized the candidacy of Hasnat Abdullah for the Cumilla-4 constituency in the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Polls.

The decision came after a hearing on an appeal filed by rival candidate Manjurul Ahsan Munshi, who sought the cancellation of Hasnat Abdullah's nomination. Munshi submitted the appeal on January 9 last.

Following the hearing, the EC ruled that Hasnat Abdullah's nomination was valid and legal, and accordingly approved his candidacy.

Meanwhile, the EC has stayed the candidacy of Manjurul Ahsan Munshi due to his defaults, following an appeal filed by Hasnat Abdullah.
